Playa Desmayo commissioned me to design their first LP, “Bañistas (Dos desnudos en un país exótico),” a title borrowed from a painting by Jean Metzinger exhibited at the Thyssen Museum in Madrid. After listening to the record, I knew from the very first moment that it had to be a photograph.

I worked closely with the band to arrive at this concept, which weaves together the album title with the song lyrics and the band’s attitude. We wanted to convey a spirit of youthful rebellion, hope, and good vibes, without losing the nostalgic undertone tied to the stage of life we happened to live through.
